It was my first time visiting this beautiful island in the Mediterranean sea. As I found out later it is also the biggest Spanish island. We stayed in S’illot located in the northeast part of the island. It is quite and calm destination so if you are looking for relaxing it is the place to go! In addition, you can find stunning beaches there with an incredibly clear water.
Since the island is still quite small you can easily get around by plenty of possibilities such as renting a bike, a car or choose one of the many organized trips. We tried a more adventurous way and we rented scooters to visit the capital Palma de Mallorca. It took us about 2 hours to get there and it was kind of scary at few moments because I am still not sure if the scooters are allowed to use the highway and we only drove 80 km/hour and every car was overtaking us. Luckily we arrived safely in Palma de Mallorca.
The city took my breath away. The Cathedral “La Seu” along the coastal road is one of the dominants of the city. Other interesting places to visit are Royal Palace of L´Almudaina located next to the cathedral, Bellver castle, Paseo Marítimo.
It was a nice week spent together with my family. I must admit I love family vacations even if I am already old enough to go on vacations with the friends as most of my peers do, I enjoy it, and appreciate it more every year. Lastly, I definitely recommend visiting Mallorca to everybody at least once in a lifetime.
